Kristen Macias

Linguist, Writer, Editor for Hire
About
Kristen holds a double concentration Master’s in English Composition and Teaching English as a Second Language from California State University, San Bernardino.
Kristen has taught college composition classes for over seven years at both her alma mater and the University of La Verne. She has spent most of her adult life in a classroom professionally from being an aide in a Special Needs class to teaching upper-division writing classes to native and second language speakers of English. She has taught conversational English to Japanese students via Zoom and tutored everything from basic understanding of prompts to applied Mathematics graduate theses.
Kristen has extensive experience working both in person and online. During the pandemic, she adopted all of her class materials into online formats successfully. She has published about her teaching practices and has written extensively for fun in her personal life.
A recent California transplant to Las Vegas, she enjoys the game Dungeons and Dragons online with her friends, playing many video games, running her fantasy football league, listening to K-Pop, drinking a good, inexpensive cabernet sauvignon, and spending time with her boyfriend and all her pets!
